Dr. Javier Arevalo (D.Sc. Agriculture and Forestry) is researcher at the School of Forest Sciences at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF). Javier Arevalo received his doctoral degree in Forestry and Agriculture from UEF in 2011, specialized in international forestry education (curriculum reform, capacity building and student-centred teaching methods). He has worked in various research and capacity building projects in the areas of bioenergy and international forestry education, with collaborations and research visits in countries such as Brazil (Universidade Federal do Paraná), China (Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University) and Kenya (University of Eldoret). Javier is member of the Institute for Natural Resources, Environment and Society and founding member of EduSilva, an
association for the promotion of the forestry education.
